Today's Kentucky political happenings.

Here are a few Kentucky political happenings:

1) Gov. Fletcher intends to call a special legislative session latter this month.

2) After a re-canvass, Melinda Wheeler still emerges the Republican winner for Treasurer, causing Lonnie Napier to concede. The results? Melinda L. Wheeler – 54,612, Lonnie Napier – 53,505,
Ken Upchurch – 36,394, and, Brandon D. Smith – 25,216.

3) As expected, Jonathan Miller is the new KDP Chair.

4) Talking about Chairs, it is rumored that GOLD's Commissioner, Steve Robertson, will be RPK's Chair.

5) AG Greg Stumbo has issued an opinion (advisory) finding the new Domestic Partner Benefits at universities and colleges is unconstitutional, because the program mimics marriages, which is prohibited unless between man and wife. Incidentally, it sounds like the program may be constitutional IF changes are made to it to make it less marriage mimicking.

and,

6) State Ethics Commission brings more charges against former members of the Fletcher Administration, who were first indicted, pardoned and dismissed for their alleged roles in the merit system investigations. They are: James L. Adams, former deputy secretary of the transportation cabinet (one count); Darrell Brock Jr., former commissioner of the Governor’s Office of Local Development and RPK Chair (one count); Basil Turbyfill, former director of the Governor’s Office of Personnel and Efficiency (four counts), and, Robert H. Wilson Jr., former deputy personnel secretary (two counts).

Am I missing anything else important? Please let me know and let me know your thoughts, also.
