Campus gun bill is about to be "shot down".
Democratic Representative and Chair of the House Judiciary Committee, Kathy Stein, has made it clear she will NOT allow House Bill 411, the bill to authorize college students to carry guns in their cars, to come up for a hearing. With opposition from Speaker Jody Richards, the bill appears DEAD for this session.
What are your thoughts?
Editor's note: TYPO. The bill is HB 114. Thanks to David for catching it.

It is HB 114, not HB 411 that you are talking about. And the bill has 63 co-sponsors. I completely disagree with your analysis of this situation. The fight has just started on this bill and Kathy Stein is not ready for the battle.
David: Thanks for catching my typo. As for your disagreement with my analysis, unless the House leadership is on board to divest Kathy Stein of her "power", I stand by my analysis that the bill "appears" DEAD!
Sixty-three co-sponsors plus discharge petition equals Kathy loses.
David, it will be interesting to see how this all plays out. I, along with many, are watching.
I agree with David on this, and I love the tactics.
One moron should never have the power to prevent good bills from going through.
Love it.
Jeff, we'll have to see how this plays out, but for now (based on the news accounts of the opposition) the bill appears dead -- though not YET dead!
