RNC ANNOUNCES 2008 VICTORY FINANCE CHAIRS
WASHINGTON – Victory 2008 Chairman Carly Fiorina and Victory 2008 Finance Chairman Lew Eisenberg have announced the 2008 Victory Finance Chairs. The 2008 Victory Finance Chairs will lead the party’s efforts in the states to ensure Senator John McCain and Republicans up-and-down the ticket have the necessary resources to communicate our message and mobilize the vote.
“I look forward to working with each of the 2008 Victory Finance Chairs and communicating Senator McCain’s vision for the country,” said Fiorina. “McCain has demonstrated to all of us that he has the judgment, character, and integrity to lead our nation and each of these state chairs will help echo that message.”
Eisenberg stated, “This is another important step in building a finance organization that will ensure Senator McCain and Republicans have the resources to reach out to voters all over the country. The 2008 Victory Finance Chairs will serve as the backbone of a network of supporters solely focused on building relationships in each of these states as we move forward to victory.”
Kentucky’s Victory Finance Chair will be Ambassador Cathy Bailey, who returned to Kentucky in February after representing the U.S. as Ambassador to Latvia since 2005. Bailey was President Bush’s Finance Chairman in Kentucky in 2004, and has held numerous positions within the Republican Party of Kentucky.
“I am honored to work on behalf of Sen. McCain and in support of the efforts of RNC Chairman Mike Duncan,” Bailey said. “I am confident that Kentucky will do its part to ensure the resources necessary to deliver the Republican Party’s core messages this fall – vigilance in the war against radical Islamic extremism, lower taxes, fiscal restraint and other policies that strengthen our economy and lower healthcare costs for all Americans.”
Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-KY, said he was proud to have Bailey home in Kentucky.
“Cathy Bailey served our country admirably, is an excellent representative of our party, and will prove invaluable as we raise the funds necessary to reaffirm that Kentucky and our Nation is solid, bright red come November,” McConnell said.
