The Republican Party Of Kentucky Reminds You To Go Vote. So Do I.
Here's the press release:
GO VOTE – WATCH FOR SUSPICIOUS ACTVITY!!
REMINDER!! Tuesday, May 20th is Election Day!! Please get out and vote – and show your support for our Republican candidates! The polls are open until 6 p.m. local time. Anyone in line by 6 p.m. may vote. All voters must produce identification or be known by a precinct officer before voting. Types of ID that can be used include driver's license, Social Security card, credit card or another form of ID containing both photo and signature.
ACTION ALERT!! While at your polling location, please be on the look-out for suspicious activity. Secretary of State Trey Grayson’s office issued a press release yesterday saying they have reason to believe that certain campaigns and liberal special interest groups may use “poll watchers” to engage in illegal election day activity.
"Poll watchers" are representatives of a campaign or outside group who enter polling locations to determine who has already voted by looking at the precinct roster or talking to poll workers. The campaign or group then uses that information to call supporters who have not yet shown up to vote. This practice is used in many states around the country, but in Kentucky it is illegal (SOS Office Press Release, 5/19/08).
An open records request made by the Republican Party of Kentucky revealed that InfoVoter Technologies, who in the past has partnered with MoveOn.org, the Obama for America organization, and Carter Bundy, a Clinton supporter and political/legislative director for American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) had requested statewide polling locations.
Voters who witness individuals recording the identity of voters within the voting room of a precinct should notify their precinct election officers and then the county clerk. Voters are also welcome to contact the Kentucky State Board of Elections at 502-573-7100 or the Office of the Attorney General at 1-800-328-8683 or the U.S. Attorney.
Comment: Go and vote, use our endorsement list as a guide, and watch out for suspicious activities from BOTH Liberal and Conservatives groups ALIKE, and NOT just from Liberal groups or one person's campaign!
