Barack Obama Changes Mind, Will Support Some Offshore Drilling As A Part Of Comprehensive Energy Plan. I AGREE.
Read about Obama's change of mind, which I support.
As many of you have read me state here and everywhere, off shore drilling should be a last resort for us, and the idea needs to be a part of a comprehensive LONG TERM energy policy.
Hence, we should be planning on a comprehensive LONG TERM policy that requires us to CONSERVE energy, seek and use more ALTERNATIVE energy sources like, nuclear (yea, I said nuclear and NOT nuckelier), wind (politicians should know a lot about this energy source!), water, solar and etc, and, give oil speculators a disincentive for price manipulation.
Here is an excerpt from the news report:
U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama says he would consider allowing some offshore oil drilling, if it was part of a compromise on an energy plan that would lead the United States toward "true energy independence."
Senator Obama said he would consider an offshore oil drilling provision if the energy plan addressed his wider aim to make the U.S. more energy efficient and create new sources of energy.
