Did Any Candidate Give You A "Purpose Driven" Reason To Change Your Mind About Him?
Did any of the two change your mind about them?
To start you off, I was impressed with Barack Obama, except for his "slick Willie lawyer" response to the question at what point a human being gets human rights (John McCain said at the moment of conception): "Whether you're looking at it from a theological perspective or a scientific perspective, answering that question with specificity is above my pay grade"!
I was equally impressed with John McCain, as he sounded more of the Maverick of old, except when he talked about defeating evil and lapsed into his talk about Bin Laden, blah, blah, blah. (Obama's answer to this question was more encouraging) and when he was asked which one Supreme Court Justice he would NOT have appointed and he NON RESPONDED by mentioning ALL the liberal/moderate members of the court, thereby costing him some liberal/moderate votes, even though as a Senator he voted to confirm ALL of thos SAME Justices who he NOW "pooh-poohs" their appointment, with the exception of Justice John Paul Stevens (since he was NOT a member of the Senate when the Justice's confirmation took place. PRESUMABLY, he would have confirmed Justice Stevens, too!)
Otherwise, I thought the two candidates did very well.
How about you?
Oh, btw, if you haven't read "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren, the Pastor at Sadlecrreek Church, you need to be "driven" to read it in order for you to find a "purpose" for your "life". You'll be surprised, I'm sure, to quickly learn from the book that life's NOT about YOU!
Happy reading.
