It sounds to me that Barack Obama is the loser in this news article (as Chuck Hagel would have been a BRAZEN and WISE VP pick for him) and a win for John McCain (not only because a pick of Chuck Hagel, a very good friend of John McCain's would have been like a poke in the eye with a knife), but it releases John McCain from the almost certain requirement to pick Joe LIEbermann as his VP candidate).

For what it's worth, I am a big fan of Chuck Hagel's and I voted for him in his first senate run.

If Obama had snagged Chuck Hagel as VP, it would have been HARD for me to resist voting for the ticket, but for now it's wait and see.
