Possible Republican (GOP) Vice Presidential Candidate Has "Pawlenty" To Say, Appears To "Diss" Barack Obama While Heaping Praises On Him.
Read more here and follow the excerpts below:
Gov. Tim Pawlenty told national Republican activists Wednesday that the party needs to brighten its message with more hopeful leaders to compete with Democrats in the new marketplace of ideas.
"The Republican idea factory has been a little stagnant in the last decade," Pawlenty told a gathering at GOPAC, a Republican group that served as a catalyst of the 1994 Republican Revolution.
Pawlenty, a national co-chair for Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign and a potential vice presidential running mate, called on state and local party activists to find new ways to engage voters who believe the country is off-track and have soured on the Republican "brand." ...
Pawlenty also took a few swipes at presumptive Democratic candidate Barack Obama:
"He's never really engaged in a leadership fashion on a matter of national significance," Pawlenty said of Obama. "He really doesn't have the requisite experience, wisdom and judgment to be the commander-in-chief."
Nevertheless, Pawlenty gave an indirect nod to Obama's positive leadership style, something he said attracts voters more than the cynicism and negativism that often pervades politics.
"Say what you will about Barack Obama, and I say a lot of negative things about him," Pawlenty said. "We need leaders, and John McCain is positive as well. People gravitate when you've got something positive to say."
Editor's comment: Sounds to me as if the Governor has taken the truth serum.

Gov. Pawlenty has the right idea about what the party has to do to get back in the game and would probably make a good addition to the ticket. Alas, the "local party activists" I'm familiar with already think there's one heretic too many on the ticket, heaven forbid we have two.
I do wish him luck selling that positive message to the 'party faithful'... he'll need it.
YEP, REAL REPUBLICANS, NOT the likes of Mitt "I'll flip flop on ANY issue" Romney or the other "I'll out liberal ANY liberal on fiscal issues" Republican wannabes, need to URGENTLY take charge of the party, or the party will lose Conservatives like me!
