"Historian Sees Lessons, Lincoln Parallels For Obama".

Read why POTUS Barack Obama's embrace of my hero, Abraham Lincoln, is music to my ears.

Oh, BTW, Obama is going to use Abraham Lincoln's Bible for his swearing in.

My heart is gladdened.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks for linking to that article. It will be interesting to see how President Obama handles the war on terror and its apendage conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Before he could simply criticize Bush and the so called rush to war. Now he is responsible for our national security interests and doesn't have the luxury of the blame game.

Lincoln's experience at war should be illuminating for the Obama team b/c it teaches us that warfighting is a process that requires continual tweaking. Lincoln canned several commanders before he got to Grant, union forces were often ill equipped and poorly trained, and there were several instances when the outgunned Confederacy threatened to take our nation's capitol. But through it all President Lincoln held firm.

At one point Honest Abe was even forced to suspend Habeus Corpus, all to win the conflict and protect the union. And in many cases he had to side step the wishes of both the zealots as well as the machine politicos in his own party.

I agree that there's quite a bit for Obama to learn from Abe.

Merry Christmas, my friend. As you know, when one speaks of my hero, Abraham Lincoln, one speaks to my heart.

And so it is with POTUS Barack Obama Obama. He speaks to my heart when he chooses to speak of, and emulate, the GREAT Honest Abe.
