Nebraska Democrats Watch Patience Pay Off -- Sort Of.
From Nebraska StatePaper NewsUpdate, December 16, 2008
Nebraska Democrats are a patient, persistent lot.
The followers of the party of Jefferson saw that patience and persistence pay off yesterday in Lincoln.
It has been four decades and four years since any Nebraska Democrat has cast an electoral ballot in a presidential race. Tuesday, Wiiliam Forsee drove to Lincoln, ate a little lunch at the Governor's Mansion, and then cast a single electoral vote, out of five, for Barack Obama.
Maybe it is significant, maybe not. It might be that the Nebraska followers of Jefferson believe in the same thing that Grandma always said, "Take care of the little things and the big things will take care of themselves."
Oh, and the Nebraska Republicans cast the other four votes.
Please enjoy all the "little things" in the News Update this morning.
