What is a bill of attainder?
A bill of attainder, which is prohibited by our Constitution, in Article 1, Section 9, Paragraph 3 (NO BILL OF ATTAINDER OR EX POST FACTO LAW SHALL BE PASSED), is a bill in Congress that targets individual persons and groups to nonjudicial determinations of guilt and punishment.
This would appear to be the bill now careening through Congress that targets AIG.
I guess we have to wait and see what the U. S. Supreme Court says on this issue, but if I were the Lawyer for these AIG employees, I know where I'll be going!
