Republican Addia Wuchner Files For Kentucky State Auditor.
State Rep. Addia Wuchner, R-Florence, will file the required papers Monday to run for State Auditor, she confirmed to the Enquirer Sunday night.
More information will be released Monday morning at a press conference in Frankfort.
Wuchner, 55, has served in the House of Representatives since 2005. In November, she ran unopposed for a fourth two-year term.
She represents the 66th House District, which covers Burlington, Hebron and parts of Florence.
Wuchner is a registered nurse and a retired administrator for St. Luke Hospitals and the Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati.
She will face Lexington Republican John T. Kemper III in the May 17 Republican primary. So far just one Democrat, Adam Edelen of Lexington, has filed to run. The deadline to do so is 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Two-term State Auditor Crit Luallen, a Democrat from Frankfort, is prohibited by term limits from seeking re-election. During her tenure, the office has become a strong watchdog of state government and the use of public funds.
Wuchner will be the first – and, as of Sunday evening, only – Northern Kentuckian on the ballot this year.
