NBA Fines New York Nets $50,000.00 For Jay Z's Visit To Kentucky Wildcat's NCAA Tournament Locker Room.
Report: NBA fines Nets $50,000 over Jay-Z's visit to Kentucky locker room
Jay-Z's visit to the University of Kentucky locker room apparently will cost the NBA's New Jersey Nets $50,000.
The rap mogul, who is also a minority owner of the Nets, visited the Wildcats after their victory over North Carolina on March 27, which clinched Kentucky's berth in the NCAA Final Four.
ESPN.com, citing sources with knowledge of the penalty, reported on the fine Friday. The report said the Nets violated league rules that prohibit contact with players who still have collegiate basketball eligibility remaining.
The NBA's investigation, first reported by CBSSports.com, was launched after a video made its way around the Internet showing Jay-Z visiting with various Kentucky players in their locker room.
