Former Western Kentucky HillTopper Head Football Coach, David Elson, Goes From "Top Of The Hill" To Be Defensive Cordinator At Franklin Simpson High School.

Former WKU coach Elson joins FSHS staff
By the Daily News
Franklin-Simpson football coach Tim Schlosser confirmed Wednesday afternoon to the Daily News that former Western Kentucky University head football coach David Elson
has joined Schlosser’s staff at FSHS.

Elson is the new defensive coordinator for the Wildcats, returning to the Bowling Green area after a year as defensive quality control coach at Indiana University.

“There’s no question we’re excited,” Schlosser said. “As a coach, you always want to do things to make your program better. I think we took a step in the right direction. You don’t always get to hire a coach of his caliber and when the opportunity presented itself, we were obviously excited about it.”

Elson was fired during his seventh season as WKU coach - a winless 2009 year that made him 39-44 overall and 2-22 in his final two seasons.
