Funding included for Warren projects

Bowling Green legislators said Friday that they are pleased funding is in place for road projects throughout Warren County even though it took a week longer than expected to get the job done.
A $4.5 billion transportation budget that would provide funding for many Warren County road projects and a project to widen portions of Interstate 65 got final legislative approval Friday during a special session, according to an Associated Press report.
The bill provides the funding for a two-year road plan approved last week on the final day of the regular legislative session. The special session was needed because legislators failed to approve the budget bill to accompany the road plan.
Rep. Jody Richards, D-Bowling Green, said he’s glad to see the transportation budget approved because it will allow important road projects to move forward. “We have a good road plan for Warren County for the next two years,” he said.
Projects approved in the plan include:
•Widening Three Springs Road from its intersection with Scottsville Road to Flealand.
•Reconstructing Ky. 185 from north of the junction with Ky. 263 near Richardsville to the Butler County line.
•Constructing a new interchange on the Natcher Parkway at Elrod Road.
•Constructing a roundabout at U.S. 31-W By-Pass and Chestnut Street/University Boulevard/Loving Way.
•Building a new Interstate 65 interchange north of Bowling Green. ...
