The Surprising Truth About Compassionate Conservatism.

Well, it turns out that the term "Compasionate Conservatism" is not just a misleading campaign slogan. So says Arthur C. Brooks, a professor of public administration at Syracuse University, and the author of a book titled who really cares? and subtitled: The Surprising Truth About Compassionate Conservatism. In it, Mr. Brooks reveals the religious give more than the secular, that conservatives give more than liberals, and that the working poor give a higher percentage of their incomes than anyone else. Read excerpts of the study here. So what is the conclusion to be drawn from all this? It is that for the religious and Conservative, charity begins at home. Liberals, who also believe in charity, prefer that it begin in someone's home!
