Congratulations to Steve Robertson, a wise choice for RPK Chair.

Today the RPK's Steering Committee unanimously voted in GOLD Commissioner, Steve Robertson, as the new Republican Party of Kentucky (RPK) Chairman. He replaces Gail Russell, the RPK National Committee woman, who subbed temporarily and whose dedication to the party many welcome and appreciate. As for Steve, he is a man I find quite capable and personable in my dealings with him, and I consider his selection (blessed by both Senator Mitch McConnell and Gov. Ernie Fletcher) a very wise move.

I welcome your comments.

For an "independent," your rhetoric and associations are very GOP-centric.

Robertson is NOT a wise choice for RPK chair. He's one of the worst that could have been put forth. I cannot fathom the thinking behind this one. I cannot fathom the State RPK Exec committee going along with this one. We should have stood up and demanded better.

Steve just came out of GOLD...that in and of itself makes him a terrible choice. The Democrats are going to make a hay-day of that fact and probably investigate until they have unearthed every bit of dirt on the guy and tie it around Fletchers neck.

The guy has never run a successful campaign (despite what you will hear in the media). The guy was run out of the Huckabee campaign and sent packing back home. He isn't a people person. He isn't photogenic. He isn't good under pressure. He isn't a good public spokesman. He looks like a weasel.

If this was blessed by McConnell and Fletcher...I can't help but wonder what in the world they were thinking. A wise move??? NO.

This was a very stupid move. It also signals the beginning of the end of Robertsons career in politics in Kentucky.

I concur...not the best move the GOP has made. I would have thought they they could have done better. Surprising.

Steve Robertson will do a fine job as State GOP Chairman. He was very well liked by local officials for his service as Commissioner of GOLD. He is easy to talk to and I enjoyed working with him on several badly needed local projects.

You're the only one...and you must be a Johnny Come Lately. The old timers on the committee know the true Steve Robertson for what he really is.

Yes I am a Johnny Come Lately, having first served on the GOP State Central Committee just over 30 years ago, but then 3:03 PM must be a truly very old timer.

It is time for us to come together to work for victory on the tough task we face ahead.

I was present at the Republican State Central Committee meeting Saturday in Frankfort. I stayed around for a long time after the meeting, talking with many present, many of which have served and been active in the Party for years. I did not have one person state anything put strong support for the selection of Steve Robertson as State Chairman.

No one is going to say anything now...no one. They are all too frightened. Give it time though 428pm, give it time. You will see the moron behind the curtain for what he really is...the same as in the movies.

I can't believe we were idiots enough to vote this guy into office. Oh well, he will be gone soon. Along with Ernest Fletchmeister the "Truffle" King.

I say good riddance to the lot of you. I welcome the new faces on the State Executive Committee.

I do not know anyone that is afraid, or has fear. Who is there to fear, what harm can anyone do to anyone? I owe my spot on the committee to my own efforts on behalf of the Party. Rather than fear, I fealt energy among those present as we start our efforts for November.

I also welcome all new faces to the Republican State Central Committee and wish us success (as all of us work together) this fall.
We have a strong down ticket, and their election would mean a great deal to all citizens of the COmmonwealth.

That's fine. I will set this one out and watch the titanic sink as the band plays on...I will sit on the deck chairs in the back...atleast that way, I will be the last aboard when the ship goes down.

I give up. The blind leading the blind. There are none so blind as those who will not see. You remind me of the shadow people (Socrates...you know, the philosopher). I'm sure you are not nearly educated enough or learned enough to have read plato, socrates, and the great thinkers. You should pay particular attention to the shadow people...and to Machiavelli, and to the Byzantine.

I weep for the future. (((Big, deep sigh)))

5:12 PM, you are indeed very smart and well educated. I only have a Master's Degree, so my hat is off to you for your great knowledge.

Sub1ingual: I am NOT GOP-centric, as you describe, just a PROUD REAL Conservative, in the mold of ABRAHAM LINCOLN.

To GOP Legislator: Thanks for your KIND words.

To anon, 4:28p.m.: Can you tell us what EXACTLY happened at the meeting. Was the UNANIMOUS vote because of "fears" as described? Did you notice ANY hesitation on anybody's part?

My opinion of Steve is expressed based on my dealings with him. Does anybody have an unpleasant dealing with him which would suggest he's a BAD choice? Please give us FACTS not INNUENDOS.

I think I will just state my opinion and leave it at that.
