I can't see how you can list McConnell as a "person of the week" because he finally voted against cloture. If you had watched on C-Span you would know that his vote was the last (or almost the last) one cast and it was clear at that time that cloture would fail. He obviouly knew that his efforts in support of amnesty had not prevailed and was trying to limit the damage to his 2008 reelection hopes. McConnell bears special culpability because of his leadership role in this abomination. He is going to have to do much more than this to get back in my good graces.
But he voted against it and that should count for something, don't you think?
By way of a perverse logic, if a court voted to reverse a death sentence, the condemned would NOT really care what the judge's reasoning is, right?
