The Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) is expected to bite Kentuckians TWICE!

The state's version of the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) has already been found to have "taken a bite" out of the pockets of small business owners in Kentucky (remember gubernatorial candidate Billy Harper's t. v. commercials? No? How soon we forget!). Well in those commercials he promised to do away with the AMT or the AMC as he called it.

Now the Federal Government has it's own monster of an AMT, which is gearing up to affect Kentuckians, too. Read it here.

It turns out that Senate Republicans (led by our Senator Mitch McConnell), have tried three times -- count them, three times -- to bring welcome changes to the AMT, but their efforts have been rebuffed.

It is time now for those who represent us in Frankfort and Washington, D. C. to bring an end to this nightmare. Call your representatives NOW.

Update: David Adams of Kentucky Progress in his comment below shows that my Good friend and Representative, Jim Descere has pre-filed a bill (BR 98) to be introduced in the next General Assembly to repeal the AMT, and replace it with a $175.00 flat fee for all business entities (with some exceptions). Thanks, David.

Osi,
The name of Kentucky's "AMT" is Limited Liability Entity Tax. Here is the bill to repeal it.
