Senator Mitch McConnell speaks the truth, opponents feign outrage.

You may not have heard about Senator Mitch McConnell's speech in Grayson county. If you haven't here's a portion:

"Our brave soldiers have protected us for six years successfully. If we brought all of them home today (terrorists) they would be back here, so we need to stay the course. It's gotten better and there is a dramatic decrease in causalities and we have begun to withdraw troops." said McConnell. "The polls are reflecting that there is a 15% increase in optimism in American's views about the war."

"I won't tell you everything is great in Iraq; it is not. But we want to keep a steady flow of funds so that we don't disrupt the military," said McConnell. "Unfortunately, most of our friends on the other isle are having a hard time admitting things are getting better; some days I almost think the critics of this war don't want us to win. Nobody is happy about losing lives but remember these are not draftees, these are full-time professional soldiers."

"We ought to provide funding fully without restrictions and without Congress micromanaging the war," added McConnell.

Seizing on the professional soldiers remark, some on the liberal left, who want to see the Senator defeated and all of Kentucky's Senatorial gains, by having as our very own representative that body's highest ranking Republican member, wiped out in a single stroke, have feigned outrage.

Some like Keith Olbermann called for the Senator's resignation (fat chance) calling the Senator the "worst person in the world":

Taking a cue from Mr. Olbermann, C-J's David Hawpe NOW has jumped on the bandwagon with a new editorial: McConnell blunders, but where is a Democrat to exploit it?

Apart from the CLEAR answer that no opponent wants to be hit with the BOULDER, the other answer is that no one can, with a straight face, claim that our Senator doesn't care about our soldiers, volunteer and professional alike.

What should be clear is that Mitch McConnell spoke the truth: Professional soldiers can be expected to know that sometimes war erupts, they will be ordered to fight in that war, and people will die -- including professional soldiers.

Considering these KNOWN ABSOLUTE TRUTHS, the better question is: Why are some liberals so truth averse?
