For those of you interested in campaign fundraising, Senator Mitch McConnell will report raising nearly $11 million, with $7.4 million on hand!

For those of you keeping count of campaign cash, "the McConnell campaign will report raising $10,889,516 through the end of 2007 for the 2008 election cycle – a new record for Kentucky. The campaign had $7,317,138 cash on hand as of December 31st. Ten months before Election Day 2008 the McConnell campaign’s cash on hand is more than the total spent by any previous U.S. Senate campaign in Kentucky. In the 4th quarter covering the three month period ending December 31, 2007, Senator McConnell raised $1,721,934. For the year the McConnell campaign brought in more than $6.6 million, eclipsing in one year the previous fundraising record for a six-year cycle", according to a news release that will be sent out to accompany the filing.
