NORTHUP IS IN!
I have been hearing almost a week now Ann Northup was likely to jump back in the race for her old Congressional seat and that she was behind the very extensive polling going on now.
Even before his call-up, several big name Republicans were unhappy with Erwin Roberts and were talking about also getting in. Northup, of course, will have support of all factions of the party.
This is good news, in what was already shaping up to be a very enthusiastic Republican year in Jefferson County. Top of the ticket with McConnell and Northup will be very strong, Hawkins and Heleringer are mounting big time state senate campaigns to take out vulnerable Democrats, and Chris Thieneman and Joe Elliott are leading a full slate for Metro Council seats.
Democrats have already squandered what momentum and good-will they might have had in Frankfort and Washington, as even a Democratic-leaning constituency like Louisville may trend the other way in 2008.

Frank, I have ALWAYS suspected as much and was just waiting for "the shoe to drop"!

I suspect that will be the case!!
