As the presumptive nominee of his party, Senator McCain has had a three-month head start to build his general election campaign.
He's used that time to demonstrate his commitment to politics-as-usual.
Not only has he filled a number of senior positions on his staff with Washington lobbyists -- including several who were forced to resign when their past dealings were revealed -- but he has built his fundraising strategy around collecting huge checks from Washington lobbyists and special interest PACs.
Senator McCain has proven that he's committed to maximizing the role of Washington lobbyists in this race.
We're doing things differently.
This campaign has never accepted donations from Washington lobbyists or special interest PACs. Instead, we rely on more than 1.5 million everyday people like you giving only what they can afford.
As we approach Saturday's financial reporting deadline, let's demonstrate that we're ready to compete in the general election -- and we're ready to win with a new kind of politics and a new kind of leadership.

Editor's comment: Like I have been saying, Lobbyists are John McCain's Achilles Heel. The SOONER he distances himself from them (and NOT just President Bush) the BETTER for him!

One other thing, if you go to www.opensecrets.org, you will see that Obama has also accepted large amounts of money from special interest PAC's, they are just hoping no one notices. Exelon(large energy provider based in Chicago), large law firms, UBS Ag (based in Switzerland and predominant buyer of US investment banks), just to name a few. This campaign is VERY beholden to special interest groups and large donors. Something like 28% of his donations come in totals of $2300+.
Obama is beholded to MoveOn.org and George Soros. IF it weren't for those far left wingers, Obama would be sitting in hos old spot on the back bench of the Senate. Obama has also taken more money from the health care industry than any other candidate. And, coincidentally, he is proposing a huge confiscation of tax payer money to funnel into the health care industry. Let's hope you take your rose colored glasses off soon. Obama ain't no saint.
