HAWKINS CLEARED ON COMPLAINTS

A few months ago the liberal media got into a minor stir over the frivolous charges at the Metro ethics committee made against Louisville Councilman Doug Hawkins by Democrats state party chair Jennifer Moore and Councilwoman Vicki Welch. One complaint was that an old link existed on a Metro website to a personal website which years later had political content added and the other that a Hawkins newsletter highlighting money he had won for a local hospital had not also given any credit to Welch.

To no one's surprise, the Ethics Committee recently dismissed all complaints summarily. I haven't seen any coverage, let alone retractions, from the various media outlets that were so hot on this story initially, now that Hawkins has won. I also don't expect the complainants will be sending Hawkins an apology any time soon. Again, no surprise.
