In Another Renaming Move, Governor Steve Beshear Trades GOLD For DLG.

In a move similar to the renaming of the Commerce Cabinet, Governor Steve Beshear has decided to retain the previous name of the Department of Local Government (GOLD) instead of the name of Governor's Office for Local Development, or GOLD, given to it by former Governor Ernie Fletcher.

GOLD is an agency that is blamed for most of the GOLD digging -- pun intended -- that happened in Fletcher's administration.

I guess it is apparent that Steve Beshear is distancing himself as much as humanly possible from his predecessor, and his administration.
