The University of Kentucky's board of trustees agreed today to eliminate 188 positions and freeze pay for faculty and staff, then voted to give President Lee Todd a $95,500 bonus that will increase his total compensation to nearly $550,000.

I have NOTHING against UK President, Lee Todd, and I have NO doubt very much deserves the raise he got, but could the Board of Regents NOT have waited to hand out pink slips to it's employees with the same hands the Board used to hand out Lee Todd's bonus?
