Next weekend, thousands of Kentuckians will gather for the annual Fancy Farm Picnic. This great Kentucky tradition is said to be the world’s largest one-day picnic and Bar-B-Que. And over its 128 year history, it has become the unofficial start to Kentucky’s campaign season.

Every year, on the first Saturday in August at 2:00 p.m., the Fancy Farm picnic sponsors political speaking.The speaking at Fancy Farm grew out of informal stump speeches given by visiting candidates, and today the speaking is held in a pavilion constructed just for this very purpose.

I am writing to invite you to join us at Fancy Farm. I hope you will come, cheer on your favorite candidates, and eat some great Bar-B-Que. This is truly an exciting event to be a part of. Fancy Farm Picnic
