Governor Steve Beshear Will Get A Chance To Appoint A Supreme Court Justice.
He will choose from one of these three within 60 days:
Robert W. Dyche III of London, Eddie C. Lovelace of Albany and Daniel J. Venters of Somerset.
According to available information, Robert Dyche is a former Kentucky Court of Appeals judge. Eddie Lovelace has been a circuit judge since 1992, and Daniel Venters is a former circuit court and district court judge.
Of all of them, I have practiced before judge Eddie Lovelace. I believe judge Robert Dyche is brother to John David Dyche, a weekly columnist for the Courier-Journal.
Not sure who has the upper hand here, or who the Democrat is (I guess I can check the party affiliation of the candidates, but I really don't care. People often switch parties (I NEVER HAVE DONE SO) in order to benefit from the party in power, so I'll wait until the pick is made and I'll update my post).

There are no Democrats on that list, if the story from the Courier Journal from a couple of weeks ago is accurate. The story mentioned five potential candidates for the Supreme Court slot -- Dyche, Lovelace, Venters, Pulaski Family Court Judge Walter Maguire, and Hyden attorney Leonard Brashear -- and said that of those, Brashear was the only Democrat.
Thanks for the info. .
