The attorney for Karen Sypher, who is charged with trying to extort money from University of Louisville men’s basketball coach Rick Pitino, has asked to delay her trial, which had been set for June 29.

Thomas Clay said in a motion filed on Wednesday that a continuance is necessary because the government hasn’t yet turned over phone records and witness statements that it says will eventually be produced.
The prosecution has until June 17 to respond to Clay’s motion.
