Was Steve Beshear "Plum Loco" For Dissing POTUS Barack Obama? You Be The Judge.
Beshear's snub of Obama, troops a mistake

Like the devastating events of 9/11, the daring mission to off the planet's most wanted terrorist offers a brief unifying moment for the country, indeed the civilized world. Rudy Giuliani joined President Barack Obama at a Ground Zero wreath-laying.
Donald Rumsfeld teamed with Vice President Joseph Biden at a similar ceremony at the Pentagon. Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, said to be a GOP contender for president, met with the commander-in-chief last week. Even Dick Cheney had charitable things to say about Obama nailing Osama.
So we'd hate to think politics played a part in Gov. Steve Beshear's snubbing of the president and vice president as they honored soldiers and special forces operatives at Fort Campbell Friday. (Beshear cited obligations at Churchill Downs.)
Maybe an incumbent Democrat, up for re-election in a red state didn't want to remind Kentuckians that his is indeed the party of Obama. Maybe he feared that any appearance beside the president was potential attack-ad fodder come fall.
But by skipping the photo-op celebrating the special-op, he may have set himself up for something worse: (Cue the sinister baritone voice-over) "Steve Beshear chose a horse race over the brave Americans who got bin Laden ..." (Insert grainy black-and-white photo of Beshear with Oaks winner Plum Pretty.) (Sinister voice-over:) "Steve Beshear: plum loco."
