Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush To Headline Fundraiser for Williams-Farmer and KYGOP

FRANKFORT — Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush will appear at a fundraiser for the Republican gubernatorial slate of David Williams and Richie Farmer and the state Republican Party on Aug. 25 in Louisville, the campaign said Wednesday.
U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell of Louisville also will headline the event, which will be held at 6 that evening at a private home in Louisville. Ticket prices range from $250 to $1,000 a person.

“We are thrilled to have Governor Bush and Senator McConnell headline what is sure to be a great event in Louisville,” said Williams-Farmer campaign chairman Donald Storm, who is a retired adjutant general of the Kentucky National Guard.
“Gov. Bush’s leadership on economic and education policy in Florida should be of particular interest to many people. We are recruiting people from all over the state who wish to attend and look forward to a great event.”

Kentucky GOP Chairman Steve Robertson said Bush, the brother of former President George W. Bush and son of former President George Bush, represented “a great example of how interested national Republican leaders are in electing solid conservatives up and down the ticket this year.”
Bush’s appearance in Kentucky follows one by Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, who helped the Williams-Farmer campaign and Kentucky GOP raise hundreds of thousands of dollars in June.

“I am honored to come to Kentucky and support great candidates who share my passion for helping people truly transform their lives through better education. As a state Senator, David Williams has been a tireless crusader for a better education for Kentucky’s children and I am sure he will take that passion to the governor’s office where he could make a tremendously positive difference in Kentucky’s future,” Bush said in a statement.
“David is more interested in the next generation than the next election, and that attitude would serve the people of Kentucky well over the next four years.”

To attend the event, contact the Williams-Farmer campaign at (502) 871-4775 or the Republican Party of Kentucky at (502) 875-5130.
