Bowling Green man charged with rape of 3-year-old girl

, 28, of Bowling Green, is charged with first-degree rape involving a child less than 12 years old.
Warren County Sheriff’s Office detectives opened an investigation into the crime when they were called to Greenview Hospital at about 3 a.m. Aug. 19 for a 3-year-old toddler who had unexplained vaginal bleeding, Detective Marty Pinet said.
The toddler’s injuries were severe enough that she was sent to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville for further treatment, Pinet said.
Pinet responded to the home the toddler had been living in inside Greenwood Mobile Home Park with her parents, an older brother, Robertson and Robertson’s girlfriend, Pinet said. The toddler was removed from the home that night.
Inside the toddler’s home, Pinet collected evidence that was sent to the Kentucky State Police Crime lab for analysis.
One of the items that Pinet collected for evidence came back tying Robertson to the alleged crime, Pinet said.
Physically, the toddler has recovered, Pinet said. She is living with other relatives.
If Robertson is convicted as charged, he could receive 15 years to life in prison, Pinet said.
Robertson is in the Warren County Regional Jail. His bond is set at $50,000.
The Daily News does not identify victims of alleged sex crimes.
