"Nixonian" or good politics: Stumbo targets Hall's lie, and RPK gets new face.

By now many of you would have heard about the state phone records that Brent Hall, former Fletcher Communications' Director and KYPolitics Blogger, allegedly obtained through an open records request. Here's the story. Hall published some of the contents of the phone records, one of which had Jack Conway using the "B" word to describe Anne Northup, her Congressional opponent, in a conversation with Crit Luallen, the State Auditor.

Brett hall has now admitted he lied when he claimed the information was obtained through an open records request, and the postings of the phone conversation have been removed from his blog. Democrats have called the actions "Nixonian" and Attorney General, Greg Stumbo, has now launched an investigation, suggesting that he thinks laws may have been broken. Fletcher's office doesn't think so, and so it goes.

Did Hall overreach and his tactics "Nixonian" or is he within his rights and is practicing good politics?

In another political news, Marian Davis, the Commissioner of KY Revenue, has resigned to take a position (rumored) as Deputy Chair of the RPK. I do not believe I know her or anything about her, though I could be wrong.

Does anyone have a clue as to whether or not this is a good move for her or the RPK? Share with us any other information you may have. Thanks.

I wonder about the quick use of the word (new?) "Nixonian". I find it interesting that the dems want to call up images of a Executive approved break-in looking for democrat information when even they are going to have to stretch to link Ernie to any sort of approval of Hall's activities.

I'm not a big fan of the current administration because of the likes of Hall. He's arrogant and he's now an admitted liar. The current administration is similarly arrogant. In their constant desire to confirm that arrogance the major print media just love it when Hall confirms that arrogance. He was. He is. They did.

This is more of the begining of the end of Ernie's reign. Too bad that they keep affirming the various paper's comments. Together Hall, the Administration, the dems, and the papers confirm the worst of what has happened in the last three years. And it's not even "Nixonian."
