Lousiana CONgressman, William "cash in freezer" Jefferson, indicted.
Louisiana Congressman, William Jefferson, who was the subject of an FBI probe (that found $90,000.00 cash hidden in his freezer), whose FBI search of his Congressional office threatened to set off a separation of powers fight between the Executive and the Legislature, and whose constituents returned to Congress despite his "money" troubles has now being indicted. He joins other Law makers in recent memory who have met the same fate, begging the question whether "the most ethical Congress" as promised by, and run by Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, will ignore this latest example of what's wrong with an ethical challenged Congress and ignore calls for his ouster.
We will soon find out, I guess. But does it trouble you that it took all the blue suits below to announce the indictment?
Update: "Cash in freezer" has now resigned his ONLY House leadership post on the Agriculture Committee, but that's NOT the end of his legislative woes. House GOP members are pushing for his expulsion, prompting Speaker Nancy Pelosi to introduce House resolution creating an ethics committee to investigate him, with the ultimate view to removing/expelling him from office -- the House can do so because Congress has the constitutional power to sit and remove its members. The ethics committee will have to turn its report in by July 21, 2007.
Should the House expel CONgressman William Jefferson, if he is found to have violated House ethics rules?
FYI: The CONgressman has Kentucky connections via Louisville's Vernon L. Jackson, 53, owner of Louisville-based iGate Inc. .

Is that cash a cold hard fact?
Were those assets frozen?
THere is probably a real chill in the air after something like that.
Cold, frozen and chill? You are hilarious!
Does'nt everyone store their cash in the freezer?
I guess that's the reason why we have all these banks.
