Senator Mitch McConnell heaps praises on Democratic Senate Leader, Alben Barkley.

U. S. Senate Majority Leader, Republican Senator Mitch McConnell is a great admirer of former U. S. Senate Leader from Kentucky, Democrat Senator Alben Barkley. In this video (I did not want to embed the video because it has a "live connect" code built into it!), McConnell discusses the Senator and shares the qualities of Senator Barkley that made him admirable.

In another unrelated development, Bill Bryant is reporting that U. S. Congressman, Ben Chandler, has not ruled out a run against McConnell. Like I said in an earlier post, I expect Ben Chandler to wait and challenge Senator Jim Bunning, instead. (Note, the same report also stated that Larry Forgy may challenge McConnell.)

Update: Some anti-war groups have started running ads like this and this against McConnell, who has launched a new Kentucky Heroes website, with an introductory video.

There is no way Bunning will run again. If he did he would get a primary challenge just like Ernie, except he'd actually lose it.

I think Bunning already indicated he was going to run, so correct me if I'm wrong.

It's not really his choice, if you get my drift. They'll have a successor picked out by this time two years from now. If he won't agree not to run, they'll embarrass him before the Democrats do.
