Words to live by.

In recognition of the anniversary of September 11th (9/11) and the expected "surge" report from General Patraeus today, I give you the following words to live by, from one of the GREATEST -- but largely the MOST UNRECOGNIZED and UNCREDITED with America's successes, due to reasons which are OBVIOUS to me, -- of our Founding Fathers:

"To judge from the history of mankind, we shall be compelled to
conclude that the fiery and destructive passions of war reign in
the human breast with much more powerful sway than the mild and
beneficent sentiments of peace; and that to model our political
systems upon speculations of lasting tranquility would be to
calculate on the weaker springs of human character."

-- Alexander Hamilton (Federalist No. 34, 4 January 1788)
