How One Louisville Woman Addresses Homelessness
A man fell 30 feet from a bridge he was sitting on into a creek below earlier this week in Louisville. According to Sandra Conatser, who was nearby when the incident occurred, homeless people frequent the underpass and surrounding woods in the area.
From the C-J:
"They have mattresses and chairs back there, and lots of garbage," Conatser said, noting that she and a friend went down there once to offer beers to the homeless.
I thought this lady was a total idiot until today when I read Proverbs 31. It reads, "Give beer to those who are perishing, wine to those who are in anguish; Let them drink and forget their poverty and remember their misery no more."
So should the government introduce a new program to provide beer and wine to the poor, or should that task be left to good people like Sandra Conatser?
