John Rogers, who has been chairman of the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance for nearly five years, has resigned to run for state senate against Senate Republican Caucus Chairman Richie Sanders Jr. of Franklin in 2008, according to Polwatchers.
I know both men well and personally, and I should add that we will have an interesting race on our hands next year.

Definitely an interesting race. Great move for Rogers... this part of
rural Kentucky will be lucky to have his representation.
John Rogers' decision is a bold one. He will be a great candidate and addition to the Kentucky Senate. I hope others will join in supporting John financially and by spreading the good news of his candidacy. My wife Alison is a native of Green County, we plan to work our family there to help John.
