February 5th special elections pit Smith against Alexander for Mongiardo's seat; Brown against Stumbo; and, Wilson against Coursey.
Democrat Scott Alexander (pictured on the left with Governor Steve Beshear) and Republican Brandon Smith (pictured on the right with U. S. Congressman, Hal Rogers), will vie for Lt. Governor Daniel Mongiardo's seat in the 30th district.
Read about the Democrats, and the Republicans.
The elections will make for interesting commentary come Tuesday night. If Brandon Smith wins, it shows that the gubernatorial elections were about Fletcher. Otherwise, Democrats have made some significant gains from the past elections.
The other races will also help decide the Fletcher issue, but not as much as the Smith Alexander race.
One side note about Brandon Smith: he reminds me of the musical group, the ZZ Top. Anyone who guesses correctly why will receive an honorary mention and post. So let's have fun guys -- and girls.
