PRESIDENT McCAIN?
I would not have guessed it a month ago, but it looks like John McCain is in the driver's seat now for the nomination.
Mike Huckabee hasn't the legs to go the distance but he's blown up the Romney campaign and taken Thompson out as well in Iowa. Now McCain just has to play nice, win New Hampshire, and let the media pile on Romney and what's left of Giuliani then he wins.
As of 9:15 EST, Barack Obama was leading Hillary in the Iowa caucus. I think Hillary is a tougher nut to crack even if Obama wins New Hampshire and South Carolina, but I must congratulate our Democrat neighbors and countrymen for regaining their dignity. It's one thing to disagree on politics, policies and candidates; it's quite another to have a major party embrace a criminal gang, which is what the Clinton family is. I don't like Obama, or Edwards, or Biden , etc. But none of them represent the total corruption of law and democracy as does Slick Willy and his clan.
Only the looniest moonbat is not now starting to give up on this most poisonous affair. The Clinton black magic seems to be fading. Hillary will go down in 2008, either in the primary or the general. We are a better country than to ever want anything to do with these people again; and good for so many Democrats for stepping away from them now.

Another great piece, Frank. The only thing I disagree with you on is Fred's chances. As for McCain, I was one of the few who voted for him in Kentucky over George Bush. I will NOT hesitate to vote for him -- again -- if I'm convinced the REAL straight talking McCain is back.
As for Obama, we MUST support him on the Democratic side, if for NOTHING else other than to keep Hillary away from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue!
