Brandon Smith snatches Lt. Governor Dan Mongiardo's senate seat for Republicans, Greg Stumbo returns to House & Will Coursey wins for Democrats.
For whatever it is worth, Brandon Smith's win CANNOT be good news for Governor Steve Beshear who pretty much staked his political fortunes on his opponent. The fiasco resulting from the selection of Scott Alexander, in which the Governor and Lt. Governor played MAJOR roles, which got Spenser Noe, the spurned candidate, registration a BIG NO, for the process that selected his rival, is partly to blame.
Why the Governor staked his political fortune, WITHOUT being assured of a win, MUST be viewed as a political miscalculation.
Anyway, congratulations go out to all, particularly (now SENATOR) "sharp dressed man" Brandon Smith, for winning a BIG one today.
