"Clinton surely had no racial intent, but none is needed for a racial effect."

I strongly disagree!the commentator states:

" "Elitist" is another word for "arrogant," which is another word for "uppity," that old calumny applied to blacks who stood up for themselves."

In my opinion this is race baiting of the worst kind.He is implying that there is an underlying race- based motive in the actions of others toward Obama, where none in fact exists.

Guilt ridden white liberals and the MSM want to turn every phrase or word said about Obama into a racial slur to chill the exercise of free speech and discussion on a man who may be the next President of the United States. Enough already!

Thanks, Steve, for your comments, though I STRONGLY disagree with you when you conclude that "... where none in fact exists."

I agree with the commentary. It is truly disappointing that Sen. Clinton has used this to her advantage (or actually, disadvantage, as Sen. Obama seems to be rising and she seems to be slipping in polls since the 'elitist' charge.)
