As I Predicted On This Blog, The City Of Bowling Green's Decision To Fund An African American Museum Draws First "HOWLING".

Read my previous post predicting a "HOWLING", then read the letter to the newspaper Editor below:

Private funds should’ve funded black museum

In response to the fireworks story printed Saturday.

Our elected officials have let many things lapse besides the fireworks. The removal/tweaking of the improperly created smoking ban. The new ethics code has been in limbo for a year. What I the voter/taxpayer was led to believe was that the city of Bowling Green was broke and had to cut services in order to make ends meet. That said the city found $123,000 for an African-American museum which was never explained/justified to the public.

I mean it’s all our tax dollars so an explanation and time set aside for public input would have been reasonable. Personally, I feel the money should have been raised with private donations. A museum of Bowling Green as a whole with a section dedicated to Black History and Shake Rag would have served the public much better.
