More changes to Kentucky's election laws are being proposed in this legislative session which starts today. Of all the changes, the one that makes the most sense because of its rationale is the one proposed by Rep. Katie Stine, a Lexington Democrat. She is proposing that the state return to public financing of elections. Her rationale? "So that candidates are less beholden to special interests and can focus more on issues and campaigning rather than on raising money". Please join me in collective shouts of AMENS!
