Weird News: Former N. J. Gay Governor enters priesthood.

The weird news of the week has to be former New Jersey Governor, James McGreevey's entry into a seminary to train as a priest. McGreedey, who resigned his post after he was "outed" as a Gay man, and who in his book The Confession (Amazon.com), well ... confessed to marrying his wife, Matos McGreedey, for "political reasons", and who is embroiled in a BITTER custody battle over their 5 year old daughter and requests for child support, and whose beautiful wife described him as "self absorbed and controlling" among other unflattering adjectives, in a recently released tell-all book, Silent Partner, (Amazon.com), is to study at a seminary to become an Episcopal priest.

Don't get me wrong, I'm NOT homophobic or anything of that nature. However, while McGreedey is wished all the best of luck in his new second life (some may CORRECTLY argue that he is simply continuing the first), STILL considering that priests have lately being accused of molesting boys, one has to wonder if this is an appropriate place -- that will be FREE of temptations -- for someone like McGreedey to start a new (or continue an old) career. The issue has prompted the New York Post's front page coverage and someone on another blog to pose this question: "Q: Why are Episcopalians so bad at chess? A: They can't tell a bishop from a queen!"
Weird news, indeed. Please NO comments about homosexuals or their lifestyles!

The practice of homosexuality is incompatible with biblical christianity. The Episcopal Church, US has shattered any semblance of unity remaining within the Anglican communion by ordaining homosexuals to the priesthood.

But, if you want to talk about people who have married "for political reasons", the obvious place to start is the Clintons! The media continues to give Hillary a pass on the accumulated evidence that Hillary has winked at Bill's infidelity for three decades. The implication, of course, is that Hillary used the relationship to maximize her own collateral benefits from Bill's political career.

I have just listening to the audio book about "the real Hillary Clinton". You should listen to it -- or read the book. It is spooky about Hillary and yes, the author makes it CLEAR theirs is NO marriage. Thanks for your insightful input.

As for the Episcopal church, my father -- who is a VERY high ranking official in the Anglican Church -- the English equivalent of the Episcopal church -- quit going over the gay issue. And as you know, the African Episcopal branch has broken away from the American branch. I also have a friend who is bolting the local church here over the same issue.

The one silver lining in the Episcopal debacle, is that it has given the Anglican church in many third world countries courage to step away from the westernized brand of theological liberalism. They will be spiritually stronger for having done so. American biblical christians should pray for, and support these brethren vigorously.
