Bowling Green's International Festival brings people together in spite of bigotry.

The annual fest known as Bowling Green International Festival will return again this year from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on September 29 in the city's Fountain Square. I have attended the event almost every year since I have lived in these parts and I have served on the festival's Board of Directors for years, so I recommend it to you for fun and good times. Plus, it's a good way to experience other cultures and people and taste other countries' music, dance and cuisine.

This year's event is especially needed in view of this and Jim Gaines' piece puts all of it in proper perspective.

For more information, please visit the festival's website.
