Liberal group puts out ad WRONGFULLY accusing Senator Mitch McConnell of voting against SCHIP compromise. It's NOT true!

The Liberal group calling itself Americans United For Change, has put out a "what if ..." ad critical of Republicans for what the group calls "voting against [SCHIP] compromise".

In the ad, the group attacked House Minority Leader, U. S. Rep. John Boehmer, and our own Senator Mitch McConnell, asking both men "how will you sleep at night ... if your son or daughter" is without (SCHIP) health insurance?

But the group CONVENIENTLY forgot this press release (or maybe they didn't care about such rebuttals) which CLEARLY shows the ad to be false and misleading, particularly with its no-compromise claim:

Republicans Committed to Bipartisan SCHIP Compromise

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell made the following statement regarding Senate passage of the do-over SCHIP bill and the urgent need to responsibly reauthorize the program in a way the President will sign:

"For the last several weeks, Republicans have requested true bipartisan negotiations so that we can create a serious plan to extend health coverage for those SCHIP was meant to cover: low-income children. But Democrats were unwilling to sit down at the table, insisting instead on sending a bill to the President they know he will not sign."

"Senate Republicans are committed to finding common ground on this issue, but we cannot do it alone. We must forge a bipartisan compromise to maintain current coverage and extend coverage to additional low-income children which the President can sign."

I've got to keep on keeping them honest, folks.
