The word is that Meade was Stumbo's handpicked successor in 2004 and that he showed he lacked political judgement to satisfy Greg. So Greg got a replacement and beat Meade. I've seen the latter in action and he's not very impressive. I can't imagine he'll be more than a speed bump in the road for Stumbo.
It just shows that NOT everyone is buying into "the fix". I wonder if Meade's move will encourage others, but I agree with you that Stumbo is the BIG Donkey in the room!
Are there any live (or dead) Republicans itching to get in?
There are approximately 2700 in the county vs. 27,000 Dems. Maybe one of them is crazy enough to get it, but i doubt it.
Oh well. That is funny, though.
