A federal judge has upheld Arizona's anti illegal immigration law, by dismissing a lawsuit filed against it, and instead finding that the law does not overstep the federal government's authority to regulate immigration.
The Legal Arizona Workers Act, allows the Superior Courts of Arizona to suspend or revoke the business licenses of businesses that intentionally or knowingly employ illegal immigrants. The law requires employers to check the legal status of new hires using E-Verify, a free online federal program that checks names and identification documents to determine employment eligibility.
