Back to "Prosecutorgate" as "showdown" looms.

In my continuing coverage of the White House bungled "Prosecutorgate", I am posting the Kyle Sampson letter that started it all. Notice where Mr. Sampson cited to 28 U. S. C. section 541(b) for the obviously CORRECT proposition of law that the targeted prosecutors were serving at the pleasure of the President as "Holdovers". Why the WH bungled the whole affair is puzzling. But with Congress more than eager to investigate the matter, whether to "ferret out crime" as Democrats claim or to score political points and embarrass the President as others suggest, the battle lines are drawn as WH Counsel, Fred Fielding, tells Congress where to go, the WH loses track of more emails and Alberto Gonzales readies for "make or break" testimony on the 17th.
